Sick days! Sympathy please.

Oct. 9th, 2008 | 05:32 pm

Have been disgustingly ill for the past week or so with a throat infection and some kind of upset stomach thingy....i only saw a doctor yesterday though cos i kept thinking it was going to get better on it's own...which it didnt. They ended up sending me home from work on tuesday and having to put all my kids in other people classes...oops. So now im taking penicilin and i feel a bit better, which is a relief cos the doctor said if it didnt improve i might have glandular fever O__o. Which would make life rather interesting....eep.

Anyways must go and take a nap now that i've finished complaining ^___^ Have to go back to work tomorrow....boooooo

Luffle!

I finally have a job!!!! ^________^

Epping primary have offered me a contract for next year which is AWESOME and the interview was AWESOME and the people who interviewed me were AWESOME and those AWESOME people told me that i did AWESOME in the interview so i think thats pretty....nice.

They rang me this afternoon while i was in the middle of making muffins and was covered in flour and it was the best birthday present EVER ^_________^ (Except for the cupcake tree of course, thanks annie :)

Im booked in for two interviews tomorrow, one at Heidelberg primary and one at Cragieburn Primary, but i think i'm going to cancel the cragieburn one cos its too far away and might make me late for work. I will see what heidelberg is like but i think like epping...i mean, the current Lunasy president recieved his prestigious education there so its gotta be good, right? :P

Luffle to every human bean!!!!!!!!!!1

My awesome buddy Dale from Uni had his first job interview for a teaching job for next year on Saturday, at Berwick Fields Primary where he's doing his teaching rounds atm....two hours after the interview they rang him up and OFFERED HIM THE JOB!!!! ON HIS FIRST INTERVIEW!!!!!! He wont have to suffer through 20 of them like the rest of us....I AM SO AWESOME HAPPY FOR HIM!!!!! But still kinda jealous cos teaching jobs are so competitive....and male teachers have a huge advantage because there are so few of them and schools want male role models for the chillens...although he is one of the best teachers i know so he would have gotten the jorb even if he was a chick...and the school loves him. It's an ongoing position too...most graduate teachers end up on 1 year contract and have to reapply for their own jobs every year.

So now I have to get serious about looking for a job for the me. I have applied at Ormond primary, and over the next week or so im hoping to submit to Sandringham primary and Preston East. I either want a job near here, or out in bundoora-way so either way I am near some awesome friendables.

Time for me to go get one of the fifteen million things i have to do done, so big congrats to Dale for being awesome and making the rest of us look bad :P

Real life is scary....

Jul. 25th, 2007 | 07:47 pm
mood: blah blah
music: Ben Lee - Begin

My Education degree is drawing to a close and i'll be graduating at the end of the year, so im at the stage where i have to start applying for teaching jobs....and its really scary and kinda annoying and time consuming.

I dont even feel confident about being a teacher yet, and im meant to convince OTHER people that im awesome and dedicated and know things about stuff. I know youre meant to try to make yourself look good in job applications but it just feels odd.

Applying for government jobs is such an annoying process too...for every job that you apply for on though the website you have to have a CV, write a cover letter to the school, and write about a four-page response to their selection criteria...and a lot of people have to apply for about 40 jobs before they get one, if they get one at all. And because public schools can't just renew teachers contracts, they legally have to re-advertise them, so heaps of the positions you apply for are in reality already filled, and you go through the whole application and interview process for nothing.

Despite all this its actually kind of exciting that im about to enter the workforce and move out of home and have responsibilities and be independent and be making money and stuff. Life is going to be really different next year O__o but hopefully there will be some funtime.

How scary IS moving out and having a job?

Noodle Problems

Feb. 28th, 2007 | 08:09 pm
music: Metallica - the Unforgiven II

I tried making pasta from scratch today with the pasta maker mum got me for christmas....you would think that since you only need 2 ingredients it would be fool proof but apparently it isnt shelli proof....

It all stuck together when i tried to cook it and the taste somewhat resembled rather chewy glue...not that i was a clag eater in primary school or anything...and then i burnt the anchovy and parsley sourdough toast i was making to go with it....

I cant make pasta...i am shattered...

I will never be able to marry into a large italian family :P

To console myself, here are some recipes from the Dr Fegg Book of All World Knowledge that perhaps i will have some more success with:

Everything Pie:
This is one of my personal favourites. Simply get a pie dish and a pastry crust, and fill it with everything: dishwater, Ajax disinfectant, the cats dinner, the cat, any other cats around, flies, teeth, the radio, cookery books, mice slops, the dog's food, the dog, the hamster, the goldifish, Mr Hetheringtons glasses (if you dont know mr hetherington - forget it), knives, forks, jacket potatoes, rubber solution, metal foil, plastic bags, socks, glue, and the draining board. And, finally, the key ingredient that makes the whole thing blend into one of the worlds truly great dishes: the Prime Minister of Malta

Lemon and Meringue Bastard:
2 lemons flour
3 eggs water
Milk

Simply put the ingredients in a bowl,
and throw it at the cat.

Fish Rhubarb:
Stragely enough, despite its imaginitive name, there is no fish in this recipe - or rhubarb. It is simply a big slab of rock-hard, six month old pizza, left out over night to soften and eaten straight off the ground first thing in the morning. The colourful name comes from the smell and texture of the dish when it comes up again.

Third World War Pizza:
This is the same pizza as in the Fish and Rhubarb recipe re-eaten.

The joys of teaching little children about stuff

Feb. 20th, 2007 | 12:27 pm
mood: busy
music: Snow patrol - Make this go on forever

A five year old informed me today that i was pregnant....

Why has no one told me this before?!?!?!?!

Im always the last to know....

The kids did worksheets yesterday where they hade a big outline of a house and had to draw their family members inside....one boy who is an only child insisted there were 6 members in his house...so the teacher said ok and he drew them...then she came back to label the pictures for him....and he said that there was "me, my dad, batman, robin, cat woman, and two face....thats six!"

"wheres your mum?"

"she's out shopping"

Personally, im amused.

Monash are money whores!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Jan. 29th, 2007 | 07:30 pm

Parking at monash was already stupid and overcrowded as it was, but now they have decided to jack up the prices for yearly parking permits by an insane amount...last year i had a permit valid at both Peninsula and Clayton campuses, which cost me $75 (it was $50 for just peninsula and $80 for just Clayton). This year it is $140 for my Peninsula permit...thank god I'm not at clayton anymore because their permit has gone up from $80 to $280.....for no reason whatsoever!!!! They have not added any more parking spaces...so it will still be impossible to get a park after 11am because they oversell the permits...they'll just charge us for the privelege...*shakes fist at monash*

On the upside the first day of my internship at Beaumaris primary went awesome! ^___^ My supervising teacher is really really nice and made an effort to introduce me to all the other teachers and make me feel welcome, which is a nice change ^__^ Im actually really looking forward to this year of teaching rounds...go figure :P

On the downside my face got really sunburnt at mon's bday picnic the other day...i was all red and cooking from the inside out....blech...i look like i should be sticking to a magnet right about now if you catch my drift....

I dont like spam

Dec. 17th, 2006 | 09:15 pm

Am feeling kinda down atm....not really sure why...actually its probably just cos im tired from working 7 days straight at the golf club and now everyone is out to dinner in the city...maybe I should have gone T__T but i think i would have died from sleepiness and i wouldnt have been any fun to talk to...i spose i'll just go read some yaoi fanfics and see if my mood improves....

In good news i am now the proud owner of a Playstation 2 since my aunts got it for me as a bday pressie ^_____^ its not as spiffy as the Wii's everyone else is buying atm but it's the first game thingy i have ever owned so I's proud of it. And they got me a really really dodgy DDR game to go with it called Dance Fest....that has stuff like the Pussycat Dolls and Steps on it...even some christmas songs...classy stuffs. Now i just have to gets me some dance mats..... and then its DDR to teh max baby!!!! ^________________^

At work we aren't exempt from water restrictions, so we've been using bore water up until now...but thats going to run out in three weeks, and they might have to close the course. I'm worried that it will mean i'm out of a job or at least my shift will be drastically cut...but we'll have to see...people might come to the clubhouse anyways. I've been really liking my job lately...and i thought i was doing really well until Mel tells me to "lift my game" because im drying glasses too slowly.....grrr....she didnt say it nastily though...

Thats all i can think of to write atm...*huggles* to funky ppl!

PS. Benji from So You Think You Can Dance is the hottest guy EVER *squees*.....I want him to bear my children.

Ethical question:

Is it wrong to perve on hot young guys at the golf club if they are at the golf club for a wake and probably just lost their grandfather?

I have been working every day for the past four days at the golf club, and will be working tomorrow and the next day as well...my feet hurt. On the plus side, i will be rich ^___^ kind of anyway. The shifts havent been too bad...although this creepy old guy came up to tell me something and kept putting his hand on my waist while he was talking to me...and as clingy a person as i am myself, i call that invasion of personal space. blech.

...

Someone at my party gave me a present and a card without a name signed to it.... and i cant remember who gave it to me....so if it was you, thankyou for the glasses, they are purty! ^___^
...

MY MUM IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!!! Ive been working all day and 20 minutes after i come home she goes NUTS at me for not putting more coke in the fridge today....and then she keeps harping on about how i really need to set aside some time to rearrange my wardrobe...I DONT CARE I LIKE MY WARDROBE THE WAY IT IS!!!!!!!!!!

That is all
